RAYNHAM — One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 495 in Raynham on Saturday afternoon, police said.
State Police responded to a report of a crash on Interstate 495 South, prior to Route 24 North, about 3:18 p.m.
“A single vehicle went into the tree line and crashed, emitting smoke as first responders arrived,” a State Police spokesperson said in an email.
The victim’s identity wasn’t immediately released.
The Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services Section responded to the scene, as well as State Police detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
The right travel lane was closed for about four hours during the on-scene investigation.
The crash remains under investigation and no further information was made available by State Police.
