Grand Terrace leaders are expected to appoint a new City Council member at a special meeting Tuesday, April 23, filling a vacancy created by the resignation of Councilmember Sylvia Robles.
Four residents have submitted applications for the seat: Ronald Perez, a grant manager for Colton Joint Unified School District; Vincent Jared Rasso, an organizer with Campaign for College Opportunity; Michelle Sabino, a speech therapist; and Ken Stewart, a public health professional.
The council is scheduled to interview the candidates at a special meeting beginning at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. The council’s preferred candidate would then be sworn in the same evening.
Once appointed, the candidate is expected to serve the remaining months of Robles’ term, which expires after the November election.
