Washington Post Live, The Post’s live journalism platform, will convene an evening in Davos, Switzerland examining the impact of digital inclusion on the global economy through conversations with leaders from Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Mastercard. HPE CEO Antonio Neri will talk one-on-one with Post Executive Editor Sally Buzbee about why he advocates for a deeper focus on data to help close the digital divide. Post Economics Correspondent Abha Bhattarai will sit down with Mike Froman, Vice Chairman and President of Strategic Growth for Mastercard, to delve into the global impact of connecting unbanked populations to the digital economy.

As part of the 2023 World Economic Forum Annual Conference agenda, Buzbee will moderate a global public health discussion looking at tuberculosis and strategies to eradicate the virus that features World Health Organization Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. In 2020, almost 10 million people fell ill from tuberculosis and 1.5 million people died. Nevertheless, prospects for more effective TB vaccines have improved recently and new vaccines are in final stages of development. What mechanisms can accelerate development and deployment to save lives?
