Right on the beach in the popular seaside town of Brighton, this hotel is the perfect spot for a romantic weekend break.

The train station is a twenty-minute walk away or parking is available at the hotel, but the cost is steep – £25 per night.

The Grade II-listed building is newly renovated and boasts a flashy reception with velvet armchairs, spacious bedrooms with all the mod cons and a ballroom with capacity for 150 people.

It’s perfectly situated to explore Brighton and the South Downs.

What is there to do at Mercure Seafront Hotel?

Take a stroll along the prom, or the city centre and The Lanes are just a 15-minute walk away.

Brighton Palace Pier and the Brighton i360 – a huge tower that takes visitors 162m above sea level – are both close by.

For those wanting to venture a bit further, there are lots of National Trust sites for hikes in the East Sussex countryside.

What is there to eat and drink at Mercure Seafront Hotel?

Guests can enjoy dinner with a view at The Goulty, which serves steaks, salads and a great selection of ice creams.

We tucked into the pan-seared salmon, with Parmentier potatoes (£17.50) and a Thai Panang curry (£16).

For special occasions, you can book the restaurant’s Coast View Suite which, of course, offers stunning views across Brighton beach.
