Where is the hottest place in Turkey?

Coastal places, such as Bodrum and Antalya, tend to be hottest. Even inland Ankara, which is cooler than Istanbul for much of the year, is very hot in July.

Turkey is generally very dry in July, and the heat is a dry heat rather than an all-encompassing muggy heat.

Cizre enjoys incredibly hot summers, with temperatures regularly exceeding 32 degrees in the height of summer.

Urfa also enjoys plenty of hot weather and is easily one of the warmest places in Turkey.

During the summer months of July and August temperatures here rise rapidly, usually staying in the mid-to-high 30 degrees.

Frequently they’ll go even higher, with temperatures regularly topping 40 degrees at the very hottest times of the year.

What is the hottest temperature in Turkey?

The hottest temperature ever recording in Turkey was 49.1 degrees.

This was recorded in Cizre, Şırnak Province, in July 2021.

This broke the previous record of 49 °C that had stood for 60 years and was also set in Cizre.

When is the best time to visit?

According to travellersworldwide.com, the best time to visit Turkey is during the spring or the fall.

The weather in Turkey is pleasant between March to May and September to November, and the summertime crowds have dispersed.

You’ll find mid-range hotel rates and cheaper flight prices during these shoulder seasons.

You’ll enjoy at least 10 hours of daily sunshine all the way down the coast from Istanbul to Antalya and temperatures averaging around 26ºC and sometimes feeling hotter.

Where in Turkey is warm all year round?

Antalya has one of the warmest winter climates in the country.

The region covers a vast distance and includes many coastal resorts that close down during winter but the city centre is open, as well as museums.
