MOTORISTS are just learning of a simple hack that can stop their car’s windows fogging up in the winter.
Condensation can be a frustrating issue for drivers in the colder months, but there’s an easy method that can get rid of it and stop it from coming back.
Dave from Epic Automotive Detailing took to his YouTube channel to share his brilliant hack in four easy steps.
The car expert first explained that he’s been using Rain X Anti Fog, one of the best-selling products on the market.
However, Dave does go onto say that, in times of desperation, car users can use shaving foam as a cheaper alternative ‘that’s been tried and tested many times over’ – although obviously the results won’t quite be the same.
Before applying the solution to your windows, you may need to raise the temperature inside your car if you already have condensation.
It’s also advisable to remove anything damp from inside your car, including damp towels, as they can contribute to condensation.
Another tip is to make sure your windows are clean beforehand.
Dave from Epic Automotive Detailing says: “You cannot apply this to dirty glass.
“If you’re going to do this then it’s going to end up smearing, it’s going to look awful and it could even impair your vision later on.”
Dave shakes the bottle well before applying a thin layer of solution to a clean cloth – stressing that it’s important to use a new, clean cloth whenever you deal with glass.
In small, circular motions, Dave then wipes the cloth onto the glass on his driver’s side window.
After leaving the solution to dry for around three minutes, he then shows how he is clearly able to see through his windscreen and side-view windows.
