THIS is the shocking moment a Tesla driver smashed into a BMW carrying a new mum and her three children after suddenly swerving across the motorway.

The BMW was being driven by Kirsty Skinner, who was on her way home having just given birth via caesarean to a premature daughter.
Her husband, Jamie, and two of her other children, aged five, three, and one, were also in the white car.
Herjean, 51, can be seen swerving into the right-hand lane at high speed as he tries to pass a car in the middle lane.
But, he plows into the back of the BMW sending it careening into the air and median barrier in a cloud of smoke.
After the impact, Skinner clutched her stomach and screamed “my babies”.
Herjean, from Hamble, was handed a 16-week jail sentence and suspended for a year from driving by the Southampton Crown Court.
Eleanor Randall, a nurse who witnessed the crash, told the court that Herjean did not check on the family he had crashed into.
When the nurse went to check on Herjean, the IT manager was throwing clothes out of his vehicle and she could smell cannabis on him.
When she told him he was driving at “over 100 miles her hour” he just shrugged, Eleanor said.
The court heard Herjean was in the midst of a psychotic episode due to the stress of working in the London Stock Exchange.
The judge said it was a “minor miracle” that no one was injured in the crash.
In his victim impact statement, Jamie Swinfield said his newborn daughter “could easily have been orphaned”
He said the impact of the crash felt like he had been “sucker punched in the head”.
He added: “This incident has traumatised me and my family. I felt like I had nearly lost my family.
“I look at my three kids when putting them to bed and get upset.”
Herjean tested positive for cannabis and failed to give a sample of blood at the police station.
His defense lawyer, Grace McConnell, said Herjean was experiencing a psychotic episode due to the stress of work.
“[He was working under] extremely high pressure and it was this pressure from work that led to this episode in his life and the situation he found himself in last October.
“He was experiencing distress about who he was and where he was at that time.”
He pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
Sentencing Herjean, recorder Stefan Ramel said: “It’s a minor miracle that none of them were seriously injured in this collision you caused.
“Mr Swinfield has lost confidence in his driving and he said when he puts his three children to bed he gets upset.”
Herjean was also ordered to carry out 130 hours of unpaid work, carry out 15 days of rehabilitation activity requirements, and pay £425 in court costs.
