BROCKTON – National Pizza Day – February 9 – is almost here, and what’s the best way to celebrate than downing a slice of cheesy pizza with a cold Coke?
In this installment of Brockton Eats with Alisha, we will visit some popular pizza places in the city. This is not a complete list but a nice sampling of some classic pizza shops in the area.
Here are six pizza places that won’t disappoint your dough-filled craving.
Venus Café – 47 South Ave, Whitman
This café in Whitman has been around for over 40 years, serving up bar-style pizza with dozens of toppings to choose from, even sweet pizzas including cinnamon, French toast, Oreo, blueberry, and cinnamon apple. If you want something to accompany your pizza, you can indulge in wings, chicken strips, fries, mozzarella sticks, salad, and hot cheddar poppers.
If you’re from Brockton, you’ve most likely heard of Supreme House of Pizza, the staple of the East Side. The family has been around for over two generations and counting to give the community a taste of authentic Greek cuisine. The once-only cash business has turned a new leaf in 2023 and now accepts credit cards and Apple Pay. The menu is simple, from subs to salads and, of course, the pizza. You can get any topping you want, and there are always slices waiting if you don’t want to eat an entire box of pizza.
Cape Code Café has been In Brockton since 1939, serving up a “delicious” 10-inch pizzas, which have been a crowd pleaser in the South Shore. The business has three different locations in Bridgewater, Raynham, and Halifax. You can dive into the buffalo chicken dip, meatballs, nacho supreme, fried chicken tender, and grilled subs. You can also try shrimp scampi, pulled chicken, and buffalo mac and cheese pizza.
Just minutes from the Easton and Stoughton line is a pizza shop that has been in the area for over 20 years, serving pizza, pasta, subs, appetizers, soup, calzones, salad, and dinners. The menu is diverse with unique dishes, including chicken stir fry, cheese quesadilla, and American steak with grilled peppers, onions, and mushrooms.
Pizza Maria – 180 Oak St., Brockton
Right in the heart of the north side of Brockton is Pizza Maria, an eatery with a menu filled with savory options from specialty pizzas, seafood dinners, pasta, calzones, and club sandwiches. A unique aspect to the business is they accept EBT as a form of payment.
