Marches, speeches and a motorcycle ride will commemorate Memorial Day this year across the Inland Empire.

Here are highlights of events planned across Riverside and San Bernardino counties and part of Los Angeles County to salute those who gave their lives while serving in the military.
Riverside County
CORONA
The Corona Chamber Foundation’s annual Memorial Mile March is set for Saturday, May 25.
The event, scheduled for 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., will begin at the chamber office, 904 E. Sixth St. An opening ceremony will take place before participants move to the Historic Civic Center, 815 W. Sixth St., where they will place American flags in the ground to form the letters “USA.”
The event is free, but donations and sponsorships are accepted.

LAKE ELSINORE
The West Coast Thunder Memorial Day Motorcycle Ride, concert and car show is set for Monday, May 27.
Participants in the motorcycle ride, which organizers estimate draws 7,500 riders each year, will leave from the Riverside Harley-Davidson, 7688 Indiana Ave., at 10 a.m. It will proceed to The Diamond stadium in Lake Elsinore. Proceeds will support the building of monuments at Riverside National Cemetery.

The ride will be followed by the West Coast Thunder Memorial Day Concert, featuring “American Idol” winner Chayce Beckham. The show will be at The Diamond, 500 Diamond Drive, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include vendors and a car show.

MORENO VALLEY
Moreno Valley Mayor Ulises Cabrera will give a virtual Memorial Day Address on Monday, May 27, at 1:30 p.m.

MURRIETA
The city of Murrieta’s Memorial Day Observance will begin at 8 a.m. Monday, May 27, at the Town Square Park and Amphitheater.
The keynote speaker will be Wildomar City Councilmember Dustin Nigg. The event will also feature remarks from Murrieta Mayor Lori Stone, a color guard presentation by Murrieta Mesa High School Navy Jr. ROTC and an invocation by Chaplain Chris Deknatel. Soli Falah and Ava Falah will sing the national anthem.

A Memorial Day ceremony will take place at Murrieta Valley Cemetery District Laurel Cemetery on Monday, May 27.

NORCO
Norco’s Memorial Day Ceremony is set for Monday, May 27.
It will include a five-minute salute, a keynote speech by Republican Assemblymember Bill Essayli, R-Corona, and the unveiling of two veterans’ names that were recently inscribed on the “Lest We Forget” Wall.
The free event runs from 9 a.m. to noon at the George A. Ingalls Veterans Memorial Plaza, 3737 Crestview Drive. Guests are asked to arrive by 9:45 a.m. The ceremony and keynote speech will begin at 10 a.m.

RIVERSIDE
In preparation for Memorial Day, the “A Flag for Every Hero” program, will place small flags at graves across Riverside National Cemetery on Saturday, May 25.
Organized by Honoring Our Fallen, the effort will begin after an 8 a.m. ceremony. Flags will be collected Tuesday, May 28. Volunteers are welcome and no registration is required.

A Memorial Day Commemoration Ceremony will be staged at Riverside National Cemetery on Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m.

SAN JACINTO
The 87th annual Memorial Day picnic is scheduled for Estudillo Heritage Park on Monday, May 27.
The event, set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., is sponsored by the Hemet Heritage Foundation, Estudillo Heritage Park and San Jacinto Museum board members. It will include a Memorial Day ceremony by the San Jacinto Honor Guards, music, information from local historical groups and tours of the Estudillo Mansion and San Jacinto Museum. Guests may bring picnic lunches. Food will be available to purchase.

TEMECULA
The city will celebrate military heroes with a Memorial Day Concert featuring the Temecula Valley Symphony on Saturday, May 25.

San Bernardino County
CHINO
The city and American Legion Elmer C. Jertberg Post 299 on Monday, May 27, will present the annual ceremony to honor fallen soldiers .
The event, set for 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., will be at the Chino Community Building, 5443 B St.

ONTARIO
A Memorial Day Program on Monday, May 27, will begin at 10 a.m. at Bellevue Memorial Park.
The program will include performances by the Ontario Chaffey Community Show Band, presentation of the colors, the laying of wreaths, a flyover, gun salute and the release of doves.

Patriotic songs and readings will be performed to honor veterans at a ceremony at Monday evening, May 27, ceremony.

Col. Jake Jacobson will speak. American Legion Posts 106 and 650 will participate, as will the Sons of the American Revolution. Patriot Horns will perform. Julie Martinez will sing the national anthem. The Post Everlasting Ceremony will salute departed veterans from Posts 106 and 650.
