BROCKTON − Two men were injured in separate shootings in the city, according to police. A 21-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting outside the Westgate Mall on the night of the Fourth of July and a man was shot inside a Belmont Street business late Tuesday evening, police said.

A new Instagram worthy Mexican and Puerto Rican restaurant has opened in Randolph and they’re serving classic margaritas and birria tacos the authentic way.

Police said a 17-year-old boy was shot in the parking lot of an East Bridgewater condominium complex on the night of the Fourth of July.

Bridgewater turned out for 4th of July celebrations, including the parade and fireworks.

Man, 21, critically injured in Brockton shooting outside Westgate Mall

A 21-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting outside the Westgate Mall on the night of the Fourth of July, police said. Officers responded to a report of a shooting in an outer perimeter parking area of the Westgate Mall at about 11:56 p.m. on Thursday, Brockton police spokesperson Darren Duarte said. Police say they learned that a 21-year-old man was dropped off at a local hospital shortly after.

17-year-old shot in the stomach outside East Bridgewater condo complex on July 4th

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the parking lot of a condominium complex on the night of the Fourth of July, police said. Police received a 911 call reporting that a person was shot on Robins Street, in the parking lot outside the Pompohono Pines condominium complex, shortly before 9 p.m. “Upon arrival, officers located a 17-year-old male who had been shot in the stomach,” Police Chief Michael Jenkins said in a written statement.

First time champions crowned at Brockton City Four Ball tournament at 22-under

In golf, consistency is often key. That proved true for Kevin Blaser and Ricky Stimets as they took home first place in the 41st Brockton City Four Ball seeded division at Thorny Lea Golf Club. The Worcester Country Club duo led wire-to-wire in the three-day tournament, posting a final gross score of 22-under-par. All three rounds were bogey-free. For Stimets, not only did he win, it was his first time playing in the tournament. “The vibes were high,” Stimets said following the trophy presentation.

Flipping to Paris: Stoughton is home to Massachusetts’ newest Olympian

Frederick Richard became the youngest U.S. male gymnast to earn an individual medal at the 2023 Gymnastics World Championships in October. The 20-year-old from Stoughton has long had his sights set on the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Team USA announced this weekend that Richard was one of five members on its men’s gymnastic roster. “The Olympics is on that goal sheet of mine,” Richard, a rising junior at the University of Michigan, told The Enterprise’s Amelia Stern in October. “Bringing home metals is a big goal, but also just showing my full potential on the biggest stage.”
