BROCKTON — The city of Brockton has spoken. You told us what restaurant you think has the best fries around, and the winner may surprise some, be a no-brainer for others, and be a new discovery for others.
In an online poll conducted by The Enterprise, Brockton Beer Company won in a landslide.
In all 12,388 votes were cast for 10 popular restaurants in the Brockton area area known for great fries. Of those, Brockton Beer Company, at 121 Main St., received 6,461 votes or 52.16%.
Now, you may wonder what makes Brockton Beer Company’s fries so special.
“We hand cut our fries, and they come to us as full russet potatoes. We cut them and prep them by hand every time. For service, we offer an array of seasonings options to pair with your favorite brew, and I think the freshness of the fry combined with the pairing options makes them different than most places,” said BBC chef Markos Liapopoulos.
Delicious combination of intense spices
One thing that stands out at BBC is the depth of the seasonings you can add for no extra charge. Indulge your senses in a delicious combination of intense spices you can’t find anywhere else nearby.
Popular flavors include truffle parmesan, Cajun, BBQ, candied bacon sriracha, harissa, maple bourbon, sour kimchi, and Thai lime siracha.
After the fries are split, they’re soaked in water to remove the starch and fried twice to get a crispy golden brown and a super enjoyable crunchy exterior.

Trifecta of food, beer and service
The best part of visiting BBC is its amazing downtown location, which features ceiling-to-floor windows, a good atmosphere, and good food.
“I think it’s the trifecta of the food, beer, and our service. Just the vibe, you know? Our taproom is very unique and represents the diversity of the city. The food speaks for itself, and our chefs do an amazing job. Not only do we offer craft beer, we also have craft food that we make fresh. Nothing is frozen,” said BBC co-owner Eval Silvera.
“I think BBC is a place that people haven’t seen before. There’s only one brewery in Brockton, and few breweries have a kitchen and offer a full menu. What we provide in the community, locally and in the region, I think that’s very special,” he said.
The owners credit chef brothers Markos and Christos Liapopoulos with the savory dishes. They cook daily, bringing the crispiest fries and the “juiciest” burgers to downtown Brockton.

Khalil’s Kitchen
Coming in strong second in the poll was Khalil’s Kitchen, with 5,335 votes or 43.07%. In a very sad turn of events, most of the voting, which closed on Friday, June 21, had already taken place when a fire destroyed Khalil’s, a popular restaurant at 880 Main St. in Brockton, on Thursday, June 20, as well as two other businesses in the same building, Studio Sky Beauty Salon and Garcia Grocery and Tropical.
