BRIDGEWATER — Leading the pack as Bridgewater’s top-earing public employee is the town’s K-9 sergeant, Steven L. Kingsley.
Kingsley earned $255,380 in the 2023 calendar year.
Kingsley took the top spot from retired police Capt. Carl H. MacDermott, a 38-year veteran of the force. Three retirees made this year’s top 10. In addition to Capt. MacDermott, police Lt. Anne M. Schuster retired in 2023 after 27 years of service. Now-retired Fire Chief Michael P. MacDermott joined them in the top 10.
The only person in this year’s top 10 who isn’t a cop or firefighter is Town Manager Michael M. Dutton. He made this year’s top 10 with a gross salary of $194,061 after being the town’s 15th-best-paid worker in 2022.
Usually in these annual stories, The Enterprise breaks down which employees made the most working overtime or traffic details. Bridgewater, however, provided only gross earnings for 2022 and 2023.
