Let the Paris Games Begin

The Paris Olympics, to be held in July-August, will beckon 10,000 souls from the world’s farthest corners. They will converge upon the City of Light, their spirits ignited by the promise of the Eiffel Tower‘s grandeur. Years of silent battles will be a pilgrimage into the depths of self, a quest for resilience and an unyielding will.Players who were strangers at the beginning will become companions. This tapestry of humanity, woven on the fields of play, will be a testament to the interconnectedness of the human spirit, a reminder that we are all part of a larger whole. They will learn the art of rising from the ashes in the crucible of competition. These moments of adversity will serve as catalysts for personal growth.

Whether on the field or in life, the journey itself is the greatest reward. The playing field, whether physical or metaphorical, is a sacred space for the soul to unfold. As the saying goes, ‘The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.’ Every game, every play, every moment is a step towards self-mastery – the value of the process over the outcome.

The spiritual perspective of athletes will underscore that the true essence of sport lies in the journey itself. Whether they stand on the podium or not, athletes will leave the games enriched by the profound spiritual lessons they learnt, carrying forward a deeper understanding of themselves. ‘The only real failure in life is not to be true to the best one knows,’ the Buddha said.
