Losing touch? Tim Walz booed by college football fans in his home state; here's what happened

University of Michigan fans were made to wait in heavy rain at the Ann Arbor stadium prior to the game of Minnesota against Wolverine. The motorcade of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz arrived late which resulted in the disappointment of the fans and as a result the fans ended up severely booing Tim Walz, reported New York Post.

According to New York Post, the severely rain drenched fans were booing Tim Walz by shouting “Tampon Tim” which is actually related to a law passed by Tim Walz in Minnesota which allows free tampons in schools. On the other hand, there were few supporters as well who showed their support to US Vice President Kamala Harris and Tim Walz by holding signs and placards.

Tim Walz did not make any public comment following the end of the game, though the game resulted in the defeat of the University of Minnesota by Michigan with a score line of 27-24. Vice Presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, Tim Walz went on to meet the mascot of Minnesota Golden Gophers and hugged him.

New York Post reported that this will be the last major campaign appearance from Tim Walz before the Vice-Presidential Debate against JD Vance and he will be travelling directly to Northern Michigan following the game to prepare for the debate. Debbie Dingell, representative of the Democratic Party told reporters that Michigan is going to be one of the very important battleground states in the US Presidential Elections 2024 as neither former US President Donald Trump nor US Vice President Kamala Harris has ever won in Michigan.
