Mexico shares higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 1.01%



Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the rose 1.01%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV:), which rose 5.84% or 3.29 points to trade at 59.66 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:) added 2.19% or 3.58 points to end at 167.22 and Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) was up 0.10% or 0.04 points to 41.40 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:), which lost 3.80% or 7.06 points to trade at 178.71 in late trade. Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:) declined 3.08% or 0.30 points to end at 9.44 and Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:) shed 3.31% or 1.46 points to 42.68.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 117 to 95 and 17 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.81% or 21.20 to $2,647.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.21% or 2.35 to hit $75.59 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.20% or 2.45 to trade at $79.03 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.07% to 19.46, while EUR/MXN fell 0.22% to 21.28.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 102.64.
