U.S. shares higher at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.97%



Investing.com – U.S. equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in NYSE, the added 0.97% to hit a new all time high, while the index climbed 0.61%, and the index climbed 0.33%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:), which rose 4.44% or 9.45 points to trade at 222.29 at the close. Boeing Co (NYSE:) added 3.00% or 4.40 points to end at 151.02 and Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:) was up 2.50% or 12.58 points to 516.30 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Salesforce Inc (NYSE:), which lost 0.71% or 2.07 points to trade at 288.10 in late trade. Apple Inc (NASDAQ:) declined 0.65% or 1.49 points to end at 227.55 and Unitedhealth Group (NYSE:) gained 0.06% or 0.35 points to 598.05.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Uber Technologies Inc (NYSE:) which rose 10.81% to 86.34, Fastenal Company (NASDAQ:) which was up 9.76% to settle at 76.82 and WW Grainger Inc (NYSE:) which gained 5.84% to close at 1,085.04.

The worst performers were Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 8.82% to 217.70 in late trade, Smith AO Corporation (NYSE:) which lost 6.30% to settle at 80.83 and Align Technology Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 3.31% to 222.04 at the close.

The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Top Wealth Group Holding Ltd (NASDAQ:) which rose 238.39% to 7.14, NewGenIvf Group Ltd (NASDAQ:) which was up 63.36% to settle at 0.98 and ATIF Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ:) which gained 62.67% to close at 1.22.

The worst performers were BAIYU Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 35.06% to 0.30 in late trade, Turbo Energy SA ADR (NASDAQ:) which lost 28.71% to settle at 2.16 and Inno Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 23.80% to 3.65 at the close.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 2147 to 659 and 78 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2400 rose and 905 declined, while 122 ended unchanged on the New York Stock Exchange.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was down 1.92% to 20.46.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.24% or 32.60 to $2,671.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.13% or 0.10 to hit $75.75 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.31% or 0.25 to trade at $79.15 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.09, while USD/JPY rose 0.40% to 149.16.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 102.71.
