Police arrest Championship duo at training ground on suspicion of voyeurism

The Metropolitan Police have arrested two QPR academy players at the club’s Hounslow training ground on Thursday, under suspicion of voyeurism.

Voyeurism is the act of gaining sexual gratification from observing or recording someone engaged in private activity without their consent.

According to the Daily Mail, the detained players, both in their late teens, were taken into custody in connection with an incident reported at a nightclub in Kingston, South London, earlier this month.

The police confirmed the arrests and stated that the two suspects remain in custody as the investigation continues. Specialist officers are supporting the victim.

A statement issued by the Metropolitan Police read: “On Thursday, 27 February, police arrested two men in their late teens on suspicion of voyeurism. This follows a report of an incident which took place at a nightclub in Kingston on Wednesday, 5 February.

“Both suspects remain in custody and enquiries are ongoing. The victim continues to be supported by specialist officers.”

In response to the incident, QPR stated that they were informed about the alleged event and that the two arrested players are cooperating with the police.

The club’s statement said: “Queens Park Rangers Football Club are aware of an alleged incident involving two academy players.

“We will be supporting the relevant authorities with their investigations and ensuring that the players in question are receiving the necessary support and guidance.

“The individuals are helping police with their enquiries. As this is an ongoing investigation, the club will not be making any further comment at this time.”

The maximum sentence for those found guilty of voyeurism stands at two years behind bars. QPR finds themselves in 14th place in the Championship, positioned seven points shy of the play-off spots and maintaining a 14-point cushion above the relegation zone.
