Acer group forays into consumer electronics; eyes $100 million in sales


Acer Group on Thursday entered into the consumer electronics market with the launch of the Acerpure brand in India. The company will now sell a range of consumer electronics from TVs and air purifiers to water purifiers, vacuum cleaners, hair dryer, and hair styler.

Without giving a timeline, the company’s top official in an interaction with ET said that they hope to achieve the $100 million business as soon as possible. Acerpure India also plans to diversify its offerings, introducing a range of products including refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, and more. It also announced a Make-In-India partnership between Acerpure and Dixon Technologies, the Indian electronics manufacturer, wherein Dixon will undertake the manufacturing of Acerpure products in its facilities starting with TVs.
