Air India aircraft delayed at Mumbai airport due to technical glitch

Around 250 passengers experienced a lengthy delay inside an Air India aircraft at Mumbai‘s airport on Tuesday evening. The delay was caused by a technical glitch, according to sources. The Dreamliner aircraft found itself stranded on the taxiway for an extended period before being towed to the parking bay.

Scheduled to depart at approximately 4 pm, the flight did not take off as planned. Passengers finally boarded the aircraft around 5:30 pm, resulting in a significant delay.

A passenger on board shared their frustration with PTI, stating that the airline provided minimal information during the wait. “There was no proper briefing by the crew except for the message that there was a technical glitch. The passengers were inside the plane for more than three hours, and there was also no clarity about alternative arrangements,” the passenger expressed.

Sources within Air India disclosed that the aircraft encountered the technical glitch shortly after pushback and had to remain on the taxiway until it could be towed to the parking bay. The plane was carrying approximately 250 passengers.

Passengers have since been deboarded, and the aircraft will undergo comprehensive checks. It is anticipated that the same aircraft will transport these passengers to Delhi after 11 pm.

As of now, Air India has not issued an official statement regarding this incident.(With inputs from PTI)
