On Friday, it was announced that Antony had returned to training and was available for selection again having been on a leave of absence for the past few weeks to deal with allegations of domestic abuse.
Gabriela Cavallin has alleged that she was physically attacked by the 23-year-old on multiple occasions during their time together in Manchester and in their native Brazil.
Two more women, Rayssa de Freitas and Ingrid Lana, have also made accusations of abuse against the Brazil international.
United confirmed the winger can play again, ‘while police inquiries proceed. This will be kept under review pending further developments in the case.
On Saturday evening, Cavallin broke her silence on this latest development, with a press release, according to MailOnline, reading:
‘Gabrela Cavallin’s attorneys inform that the crimes committed by the player are still being investigated by the Manchester Police and also the Brazilian Police, which is why we believe that he will soon be sent to Court, where he will have to face a trial.
‘It seems obvious to us that fallacies would be created with the intention that the team bringing him back to training.’
Antony has repeatedly denied the allegations made against him.
As expected, the forward was not included in United’s matchday squad for the shock 1-0 defeat against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
He was however in the stands at Old Trafford, with the player posting on his Instagram story: ‘Good to be back.’
