Long weekend
This week banks in many states will witness three days consecutive bank holidays. Republic Day, January 26 which falls on Friday this year, is the only national holiday when banks will be closed for a long weekend as it is followed by fourth Saturday and Sundays.

January bank holidays
Bank holidays will differ from state to state and in January 2024 banks will be closed for 16 days including second, fourth Saturdays, Sundays and other regional holidays. Also, in many states banks were closed on January 22, 2024 to celebrate inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Hazarat Ali and Republic Day.
