ASTON VILLA have completed the signing of Amadou Onana for a club record deal.
Unai Emery’s side have paid £50million for the Everton star.
The Toffees confirmed the news in a short statement, which read: “Amadou Onana has joined Aston Villa on a permanent transfer.
“The midfielder, who joined Everton from Lille in August 2022, made 75 appearances for the Blues, scoring four goals.
“He had previously had spells with Hamburg and Hoffenheim in Germany.
“Everton thanks Amadou for his service and wishes him well for the future.”
Onana, 22, has supposedly signed a five-year contract at Villa Park.
The transfer sees the club smash their transfer record after spending £46m on Moussa Diaby from Bayer Leverkusen last summer.
Onana played every minute for Belgium at Euro 2024 and managed 37 appearances for Everton last season.
He has previously been linked with the likes of Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Manchester United – with the latter reportedly failing in a last ditch attempt to hijack the move.

The arrival of Onana bolsters Emery’s options in midfield ahead of the club’s Champions League campaign after they sold Douglas Luiz to Juventus for £42.35m.
Villa have already splashed the cash this summer – bringing in eight new players.
