Bomber girls runners remain unbeaten – The Adirondack Daily Enterprise

LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid girls cross country team continued their dominating season by sweeping their second and final home meet of the season. The boys team split the dual meet.

Racing at the Cascade Welcome Center, the Blue Bomber girls topped the Beekmantown Eagles 22-33, and the AuSable Valley Patriots 17-38. The team improved to 7-0 in league meets this season.

Lake Placid’s boys squad topped the Patriots 25-30 but fell to the Eagles 22-39 to drop to 4-3 overall.

The Blue Bomber girls took the top two spots, with Leila Fey coming across the finish line first with a time of 20 minutes and 21 seconds. She was followed by teammate Kai McKinnon (20:28) and Beekmantown’s Olivia Drowne (20:52).

Lake Placid’s Norah Francis (21:26) placed fourth, while teammates Jenna Fay (22:43) and Holly Erenstone (22:49) placed eighth and ninth, respectively.

On the boys side, the Eagles’ Jon Slick (23:02) was the top finisher, edging out the Blue Bombers’ Aidan Fay (23:21). Beekmantown’s Nolan Laidman (16:59) was third, followed by Lake Placid’s Colin Francis (23:25) in fourth.

The Blue Bombers’ Connor Mannion (18:58) and Graham Scull (19:30) placed 12th and 15th, respectively.

Tuesday’s meet marked the final time Lake Placid will have raced at home. The team is slated to travel to Cadyville Recreation Park for a meet at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 1 against Saranac Central, Peru and Seton Catholic.
