It was a smash hit at the box office – and Barbie was also the biggest selling title of 2023 in the UK for home entertainment.
The film, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, sold 700,000 units across digital platforms or rented and purchased discs.
And UK consumers forked out £200 per minute on the movie.

The success of the summer blockbuster, directed by American filmmaker Greta Gerwig, helped push the value of the UK’s home entertainment sector to £4.9billion, 10.6 per cent higher than 2022.
Today’s figures – released by the British Association for Screen Entertainment and the Official Charts Company – measure individual purchases on disc and digital, to rent, buy or own in the UK.
The second and third biggest films for home-viewers were John Wick: Chapter 4 and The Super Mario Bros Movie.
