BROCKTON − The ribbon-cutting for the brand-new Cosgrove Pool was held on Monday.

The Stop & Shop on North Montello is going to close, after all. The last time the North Montello location was slated to close, Brockton leaders including Mayor Robert F. Sullivan rallied and convinced Stop & Shop and its landlord to keep it open.

Three people were injured, including at least one person who suffered serious injuries, when a minivan and commercial box truck collided at Harrison Boulevard and Pond Street in Avon on Monday, officials said.

Sullivan rallied and convinced Stop & Shop and its landlord to keep it open. Stop & Shop released a list of 32 stores they’re planning to close this year, including eight stores in Massachusetts.

Driver seriously injured, 2 passengers hospitalized in Avon collision

Three people were injured, including at least one person who suffered serious injuries, when a minivan and commercial box truck collided on Monday afternoon, officials said. Police and firefighters responded to a report of a crash at Harrison Boulevard and Pond Street about 3:30 p.m. “Officers arrived to find a collision between a commercial vehicle and a minivan,” Fire Chief David Charest and Police Chief Jeffrey Bukunt said in a joint written statement. “The passenger vehicle sustained heavy damage on the front and sides of the car.”

Ashland Farm Dairy in East Bridgewater collected nearly 50% of the 21,152 votes cast in the online poll conducted by The Enterprise, which included 13 businesses throughout the area. Ashland received 10,473 votes. Rounding out the top three were Heidi’s Hollow Farm in Hanson, which received 6,994 votes, and Joyful Scoops in Middleboro, which earned 1,262 votes.

Brockton man sought in killing of Milford teen at Northborough birthday party

Authorites are looking for a Brockton man who is facing a murder charge in the death of a teenager at a party in Northborough in May. Erik Coelho Dos Santos, 20, was among the hundreds of people at a birthday gathering at 333 Howard St. that continued into the morning of May 12, according to authorities. About 1 a.m., gunfire rang out, with at least two people struck. One of those hit, Ygor Correia, 16, of Milford, was rushed to UMass Memorial Medical Center — University Campus in Worcester, where he was pronounced dead. The second person was treated at a hospital and released.
