A CLASSIC Ford Capri in immaculate condition is up for sale for almost £60,000.
The 1987 2.8i Injection model has only covered 2,362 miles from new and has an extensive history file, along with the original spare key and handbook.
If you’re after a mint example of an 80s Capri then the seller thinks this could be your chance – even if it does come with a sky-high asking price.
Auto business K&H Classics said: “This car is truly amazing and is completely untouched inside and out, you can even smell the leather from the interior as if it was brand new in the dealership.”
“It was owned by a lady… she bought the car brand new back in 1987 but her husband didn’t like the way she drove it, so was then dry stored for the next twenty eight years except for the yearly MOT visits.”
The Capri 2.8 Injection model brought in some welcome additions to the range, including a new five-speed manual gearbox and a limited slip differential – while upgrading to the ‘Special’ meant you had the luxury of half leather upholstery, seven-spoke RS wheels and colour-coded trim.
The seller goes on to mention that the bodywork of this particular Injection model is ‘completely untouched’, and that the overall condition is ‘truly astonishing.’
The Ford Capri was called the Ford Mustang of Europe and it seems enthusiastic buyers are now pushing prices upwards to record levels.
