Crypto News LIVE Updates: The crypto market has displayed a positive trend over the last two days in the backdrop of optimism around Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Bitcoin (BTC) Price was hovering around $44,000 early this morning but has since dropped to $43,667. The OG cryptocurrency is up 3.7% in the last seven days.
The spot Bitcoin ETF race is heating up, with all applicants having filed 19b-4 amendments with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (ETF). Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas said the US securities watchdog is likely to approve the first wave of Bitcoin ETFs and allow trading by as early as Jan 11.
Elsewhere, Spain’s central bank initiated a six-month pilot for central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), in partnership with three firms — namely Cecabank, Abanca, and Adhara Blockchain. Point to note: this initiative is different from Spain’s digital euro project.
