There have been a lot of changes in the Democratic Party during the last month. We are moving forward and looking to the future!
The change at the top of the presidential ticket has invigorated Democrats, Independents and some Republicans. Americans are longing for change. We are longing for optimism, hope and the possibilities of a brighter future. For the last nine years, both parties have been focused on doom and gloom and existential threats. People are ready to move on!
Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are offering solutions that can help with our infrastructure, our economy and our patriotism. The first step is to recognize that we, the United States of America, are already the greatest country in the world.
Our economy is stronger than any other industrialized nation by far. We’ve started to bring back jobs in manufacturing and technology that offer well paying positions for people with or without college educations.
We’re rebuilding our infrastructure. We’re making progress with lowering inflation and lowering costs. And we are going to do more!
If you like to back the underdogs and also like to get behind the winners, join us. We are fighting for our individual freedoms and our overall prosperity. Here are some examples.
Freedom to choose:
- Family planning and women’s health;
- What you and your family can read.
Freedom from poverty:
- Earned income tax credit increase;
- Expanded child tax credits, including $6,000 for a child’s first year.
Freedom to get ahead:
- Investments in new and affordable housing;
- Down payment assistance for first time homebuyers;
- Paid family leave;
- No tax on tips for waiters and other service personnel (excluding loopholes for “tips” to wealthy service workers, such as hedge fund managers, who could lower fees and encourage “tips” as a way to dodge income taxes).
The changes that we propose are what the vast majority of people want and deserve. They are also practical and will make our country stronger. We are free to choose in November!
