Jadon Sancho is delighted to be back at Borussia Dortmund which he insists feels like ‘home’ after he joined the club on loan from Manchester United.

The 23-year-old has rejoined the German giants on a six-month loan deal following his public fallout with United boss Erik ten Hag.

The England international was considered one of the best forwards in the world when he joined United in the summer of 2021 for £73m.

But his time at Old Trafford has been plagued by inconsistent form and fitness issues, resulting in just 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances.

Sancho has now spoken to Dortmund’s media team about his return to the Bundesliga and said: ‘It’s so nice to be back.

‘Dortmund is like a home to me. This is where my career as a professional footballer started. That was always my dream. I’m happy to be back here again.

‘Of course [I am raring to go]. I want to get started! I think my team-mates will make it easy for me to get started here.

‘I still know some of the players. And they’ll feel just like me. They really want to get going too.

‘[The plan is] to start winning matches, scoring goals and setting up goals. I can hardly wait.’

Asked to explain why he was keen for a second stint at Dortmund, Sancho added: ‘It’s down to how I’ve been received by the fans here. Then the discussions with Edin Terzic, Sebastian Kehl, Hans-Joachim Watzke, Marco Reus and other players. All of that has ensured that it now feels like the right decision.’
