Elon Musk hasn’t had much to say publicly about claims he has had a baby with right-wing influencer Ashley St Clair.
But last night, he responded with one word – ‘woah’ – to the furore on his social media site X.
It comes after St Clair, who has over a million followers on the platform, wrote: ‘Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. Elon Musk is the father.’
She added: ‘I have not previously disclosed this to protect our child’s privacy and safety, but in recent days, it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause.’
Alongside the statement, she wrote ‘Alea iacta est’, a Latin phrase meaning ‘the die is cast’.
Musk’s response was not to her directly but to Milo Yiannopoulos, who had posted a screenshot of a tweet by St Claire from 2020 joking that she wanted a ‘marriage proposal’ from Musk.
He captioned it ‘Ashley St Clair plotted for HALF A DECADE to ensnare Elon Musk’.
After the billionaire commented ‘woah’ in response, St Clair wrote a now deleted comment: ‘Elon, we have been trying to communicate for the past several days, and you have not responded. When are you going to reply to us instead of publicly responding to smears from an individual who just posted photos of me in underwear at 15 years old?’
In another tweet, she added that Musk had previously been aware of her comment as it had been discussed with him ‘months ago’ in a private phone call.
She later added: ‘Wish I did not feel the need to make a statement. Kids should be off limits for journalists Will be spending time with my family & logging off for a while.’
Elon Musk also said he would be taking the weekend off from posting, as his Grok 3 AI was due to be released and he will be ‘honing product with the team all weekend’.
Last summer, Elon Musk has confirmed the birth of his 12th child and denied claims he tried to keep the baby’s arrival ‘secret’.
It was the 53-year-old SpaceX founder’s third child with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, with whom he also had twins Strider and Azure in November 2021.
Musk, who is known to be concerned over population decline, told PageSix on Sunday night: ‘As for ‘secretly fathered,’ that is also false.
‘All our friends and family know. Failure to issue a press release, which would be bizarre, does not mean ‘secret’.’
He also has three children with former partner Grimes, sons X Æ A-Xii (known as ‘X’) and Techno Mechanicus (known as ‘Tau’) and daughter Exa Dark Sideræl (known as ‘Y’).
He had another six children with ex-wife Justine Wilson, twins Griffin and Vivian, triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian, and his firstborn child Nevada Alexander, who died in 2002.
