ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) – Main Street Enterprise is hosting its newest series Nook at Night throughout the summer.
Nook at Night is the latest phase for The Nook, a downtown beautification project that has now turned into a venue for artists around the area.
”When we first opened up the nook we knew that we wanted to be a community space. That was kind of always the goal. Once we got enough money raised we were able to put in electricity which was the final step. After that, it was to put it out to the public,” Mariah Montgomery with Main Street Enterprise, said.
The goal was to give local artists a platform to share their music with the city of Enterprise.
For singers and songwriters like Gracie Holloway, it is the perfect opportunity.
Holloway is a recent graduate who is pursuing her passion for music by getting her name out there locally.
”It helps with confidence and kind of not being as nervous to talk in front of crowds. The crowds are always really nice and really supportive of every artist,” Gracie Holloway, an Enterprise native, said.
The series is also a chance to garner support for local downtown businesses.
“We hope that while people are down her enjoying nook at night that they are experiencing the downtown businesses as well. We are an entertainment district so we always encourage people to go grab a drink whether it is across the street or down the street and then come back and enjoy live music together,” Montgomery said.
The series began this month and will continue throughout the summer.
Performances start at 6 p.m, on select Fridays and are free and open to the public.
