Stocks in Europe and the UK closed at two-week lows, notching up weekly declines in the process.

Germany’s Dax closed about flat, while France’s Cac 40 shed 0.1 per cent. Both gauges fell over the course of the week.
London’s FTSE 100 fell 0.2 per cent on Friday, going into a long weekend. The benchmark index dropped 1.2 per cent over the week, it’s biggest retreat since mid-April.
US equities remained on track to bounce back from declines during the previous session. Wall Street’s S&P 500 was up 0.7 per cent during lunchtime trading and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite rose 1.1 per cent.
