A FAMILY-run car dealership chain loved by thousands of Brits has opened its second store after taking on a giant motor franchise.
The firm will offer brand-new motors as well as second-hand cars and parts from a major car brand as part of its sales agreement.
John Clark Motor Group has now opened its second dealership that will sell MG cars.
The motoring group bought the franchise in Perth from auto giant West End Motor Group.
It will now now the firm’s Dundee MG dealership, offering new and used car sales as well as aftersales and parts, CarDealer Magazine reports.
In a statement, the family-run dealership chain said the “strategic acquisition” will improve its presence in the region and will help along with its “ongoing commitment to the MG brand”.
Chris Clark, the company’s managing director, said: “We are thrilled to be expanding our MG representation in Scotland through this strategic addition in Perth.
“This move reinforces the group’s dedication to serving the local community with quality vehicles and exceptional service.”
Considered to be one of the most profitable car dealerships in the UK, John Clark Motor Group was founded in 1974.
It comes after another family-run car dealership chain announced it will open seven new showrooms immediately.
Mon Motors, which has been run by the Cleverley family since 1976, is best known as a beloved provider of second-hand cars in South Wales and the West of England.
Now, though, it will be expanding its retail operations after a significant takeover deal.
Mon has acquired seven sites from Heritage Automotive for an “undisclosed fee”.
Rebranding is already underway with Gavin Cleverley, the managing director, visiting the new outlets and meeting staff.

The sites will focus on high-quality second-hand vehicles and are spread across the country.
It comes after a rival group inked a new deal to sell a major Japanese car brand in one of the UK’s biggest cities.
