Franklin India Bluechip Fund
Franklin India Bluechip Fund, a large cap fund, manages assets of around Rs 7,019.65 crore. Launched in December 1993, the scheme offered 19.46% in 30 years. The scheme offered 12.76% in 10 years, 13.67% in five years, and 15.77% in three years. During the same periods, the benchmark (Nifty 100 – TRI) offered 14.47%, 15.79%, and 17.05% respectively. This shows that the scheme has failed to beat its benchmark during these horizons.

SIP returns
A monthly SIP of Rs 10,000 made in the fund since inception would have now grown to Rs 16.68 crore with a XIRR of 20.29%. A 10-year SIP would have offered 16.19% returns. In the five-year horizon, the scheme offered XIRR of around 21.47%. In the three-year horizon, the scheme has offered 21.27% SIP returns.
Based on yearly returns in the last 10 years, the scheme outperformed its benchmark four times. The scheme has beaten its benchmark in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2021. It underperformed its benchmark only in 2013, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022.

Lumpsum returns
A lumpsum investment of Rs 1 lakh was made in the fund at the time of launch would have grown to Rs 1.90 crore with a CAGR of 19.11%. A lumpsum investment inthe scheme would have offered a CAGR return of 12.66% in 10 years. In the five and three year horizon, the scheme would have offered a CAGR of 12.37% and 16.13% respectively.
The portfolio of the fund is diversified across 39 stocks, with top 10 stocks accounting for 47.98%. As on November 30, the fund has 98.47% allocation to equity, and 1.52% in others which include cash and cash equivalents.
Franklin India Prima Fund
Franklin India Prima Fund, a mid cap fund, manages assets of Rs 9,280.76 crore. Launched in December 1993, the scheme offered 19.32% in 10 years, 17.92% in five years, and 22.21% in three years. During the same periods, the benchmark (Nifty Midcap 150 – TRI) offered 21.99%, 23.44%, and 30.13% respectively.

Based on yearly returns in the last 10 years, the scheme outperformed its benchmark five times. The scheme has beaten its benchmark in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2019. It underperformed its benchmark only in 2015, 2017, 2020, 2021, and 2022.

The portfolio of the fund is diversified across 71 stocks, with top 10 stocks accounting for 24.42%. As on November 30, the fund has 95.89% allocation to equity, and 4.10% in others which include cash and cash equivalents.
