Getting wet in the rain

You’re strolling down the street, lost in thought or humming a tune. Suddenly, out of the blue, a single raindrop lands on your cheek, like a tap. You look at a droplet of water. Before you can act, a few more fall. And then it starts pouring.

At first, there’s a moment of confusion, perhaps even irritation. Why did it have to happen now? But, then, almost simultaneously, there is another thought: getting caught in sudden rain is a delightful and unexpected adventure. Why not enjoy the unexpected natural bounty?

As others rush for shelter, you stand your ground, enjoying the unexpected shower. That moment takes you back to schooldays when one would pray for such unexpected episodes because that meant a ‘rainy day’ holiday. And, then, the walk back home in knee-deep water with friends, enjoying the moment and the day. It was a magical interlude, a break from rigid routines.

Getting caught in sudden rain isn’t just about getting wet; it’s about embracing the unpredictability of life and finding joy in the most unexpected moments. So, next time the skies open up without any warning, don’t fret and rush for cover. Enjoy it.
