Canadian resource company Lion One Metals Ltd has shown its appreciation to the Government of Fiji with a formal visit and a presentation of gifts after the recent discovery of a gold pour at their Tuvatu Alkaline Gold Project located in Nadi.
Lion One Metals Ltd manager legal Edwin Wainiqolo visited a delegation of representatives of Fiji with a presentation of a gold-plated bar and coin from the company.
The delegation consisted of the President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, permanent secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister Pita Wise, Deputy Prime Minister’s office director and registrar of co-operatives and program Faizal Khan, Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources Filimoni Vosarogo and permanent secretary for Lands and Mineral Resources Dr Raijeli Taga.
The visit served as a token of appreciation offered by the company to the Fiji Government, and to relay the success of the first gold pour on October 10, 2023, in Tuvatu.
According to a news release, “this event shows that Lion One has proven its commitment to Fiji with a level of investment made to develop a modern narrow vein gold mine in the country”.
“Tuvatu Gold Mine will greatly boost the mineral resources sector’s contribution to Fiji’s GDP and will also assist in the retention of Fiji’s qualified local technical experts in Fiji.”
The Fiji Government representatives were grateful and appreciated the token presented from Lion One Metals Ltd.
