Hargreaves Lansdown’s prospective new owners should ban working from home, its co-founder has said.

Peter Hargreaves, who launched the business with Stephen Lansdown in 1981, said he hoped more staff would return to the office if the private equity bidders led by buyout firm CVC take control.

‘There’s a lot of working from home, and the help desk doesn’t work if working from home,’ Hargreaves told the Telegraph.

He added: ‘I hope [they get rid of working from home]. You just can’t run a business like that. It’s just madness.’
