The maintenance window will last for four hours from 2:30 AM to 6:30 AM IST on June 8, 2025. UPI services linked to HDFC Bank accounts will be unavailable during the maintenance window. This means customers won’t be able to send or receive money via UPI during that time.

Which services will be unavailable during scheduled downtime on June 8, 2025?

During the scheduled maintenance period, several key HDFC Bank services will be temporarily unavailable. These include access to net banking and the mobile banking app, along with viewing or managing account-related details and deposits. Additionally, fund transfer services such as UPI, IMPS, NEFT, and RTGS will be affected. Merchant payments linked to HDFC Bank accounts and the instant account opening process will also be unavailable during this time.

However, the bank has recommended using its PayZapp wallet for all your transactions during this time.

What is PayZapp?

HDFC Bank’s PayZapp is an online payment app that doubles as a digital wallet and a virtual card. You can use PayZapp to pay for online and offline services like paying bills, sending money, shopping online, etc., without having to use your bank account or cards.

What is the transaction limit on PayZapp?

The PayZapp transactions limits are Rs 10,000 per month for non-KYC Accounts and Rs 200,00 per month for KYC-compliant customers.

A bank’s announcement of UPI maintenance can cause a number of issues for HDFC Bank customers, particularly given UPI (Unified Payments Interface) is now extensively linked into daily transactions in India. Common problems users experience during UPI outages are:
Failed transactions
Payments might be unsuccessful or appear as pending Errors like “Transaction failed due to technical error” or “Bank server not responding” may appear.

Delayed refunds
Refunds could take hours or days to process if money is deducted but the transaction fails, which could be stressful or inconvenient.

Inability to receive funds
UPI might not let users check their account balance.
Delayed or failing incoming payments will impact small businesses or freelancers.

Axis Bank credit card downtime
Axis Bank has also announced a scheduled maintenance window that will temporarily affect credit card transactions on June 6, 2025. The bank informed its customers via text message stating, “Due to maintenance downtime, you will be unable to transact with Axis Bank Credit Card/s on 06-06-25 from 02:00 AM to 02:45 AM IST. Regret any inconvenience.”
