Those who stage the “Ramona” pageant met Santa Claus for a final celebration of the outdoor play’s 100th year near Hemet.
It was the “Ramona” Holiday Pancake Breakfast, which returned Sunday, Dec. 3, to Golden Era Golf Course near San Jacinto after a pandemic-related hiatus.
About 150 attended the event, which featured visits and photos with Santa, a news release states. The Soboba Foundation donated toys for children.
With the breakfast behind, preparations are beginning for the 101st season of “Ramona” in 2024.
Rehearsals and signups for the play’s rock indians and village children will begin Jan. 27.
The President’s Dinner, at which the new cast will be announced, is set for Jan. 13, at the Hemet Public Library, the release states. The Arias Troubadours will be honored at the event for 100 years of performing in “Ramona.”
