What is NPS
The National Pension System (NPS) is a pension scheme that helps people save for retirement. It was introduced by the Government of India to provide social security to all citizens of India.
How to make NPS contribution using the BHIM app:
Step 1: Click on ‘View All’ under the ‘Recharges and Pay Bills’ section on your BHIM app home screen
Step 2: Click on ‘NPS’ under the ‘Other Categories’ section and enter the following details:
Step 3: Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN) or 10-digit mobile number
- Date of Birth
- Tier
- Contribution Amount
Step 4: Tick the checkbox to agree to the Terms and Conditions and tap ‘Get Bill Details’
Step 5: Tap on ‘Bill Info’ to review details of NPS investment and the amount breakup
Step 6: Select your preferred payment mode, hit/tap ‘Pay’, and complete the payment.
e-NPS
To make an online contribution, the subscriber can to go to https://enps. nsdl.com and click on the ‘Contribution’ tab. The subscriber’s PRAN (permanent retirement account number) and date of birth need to be entered. Upon OTP verification, the contribution to a Tier I or Tier II account can be made.
Mobile application
Download the NPS mobile app. The contribution can be made even without logging in to the app by just entering the PRAN, and date of birth and then clicking on ‘verify PRAN’. After OTP authentication, the subscriber can make contribution in Tier I or Tier II account through net banking, debit or credit card.
Nodal office
For carrying out transactions physically, one can visit the POP-SP location. One can download the NPS contribution slip from http://bit.ly/2ICLtax and submit it to the POP-SP after filling it. An acknowledgment is issued to enable tracking of the contribution.

Step 1: Subscriber can login to NPS account, click on contribution
Step 2: initiate contribution and select virtual account status and QR code will be displayed.
Step 3: Scan the QR code through any payment UPI App .
How KFin-CRA customers can make NPS contributions through QR code
Step 1: Subscriber need to visit eNPS login page
Step 2: Click on transaction menu Step 3: Upon selecting Payment Mode as “UPI”, QR code as per Account type will be displayed.
Step 4: Scan the QR code through any payment UPI App.
