GRANDAD Eric Willson is looking forward to holidaying in the same hotel in Lanzarote — for the 90th time.
He only got home last Friday but has already booked the same room again for August.
Divorced Eric, 78, fell in love with suite 0164 at the five-star Dreams Lanzarote Playa Dorada Resort & Spa on his first visit in 1989.
He said: “I’ve been fortunate enough to travel around the world to 61 countries, including Cuba and Thailand — but none compare to Lanzarote.
The staff at the hotel treat me as if I’m King Charles and they’ve already told me they’re going to do some big celebrations to make my 90th trip truly special.”
“Usually I get a big welcome home — because it does feel like home to me.”
Highlights have included meeting actor Will Mellor at the resort in 1995.
Eric, of Romford, East London, also enjoys water polo, darts, archery and quizzes — and belting out Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett classics at late-night karaoke.
The retired furniture and carpet worker reckons he has spent around £90,000 on his Canary Island passion but added: “It’s been worth every penny.”
