Lakers win against Warriors, to face Dallas, Memphis, and Oklahoma City next. Details here

During his media appearance at All-Star weekend, LeBron James established the significance of the Lakers’ remaining 23 regular-season games. He expressed that these games are among the most crucial of his career and hopes that his teammates share the same mindset as they return from the break. The Lakers followed James’ instructions in their first game after a week-long break and emerged victorious with a 124-111 win over the Golden State Warriors at Crypto.com Arena on Thursday. With a few trades made at the deadline, they have now won three out of four games and hold a 28-32 record overall. Although they remain in 13th place in the Western Conference, they are just one and a half games behind the Warriors, who currently occupy the No. 10 seed and the last spot in the Play-In Tournament.

The Lakers will now go on a critical three-game road trip to Dallas, Memphis, and Oklahoma City. Lakers have an overall three losses against these three teams this season.

LeBron James’s performance against Golden State Warriors

In a surprising turn of events, James, who is known for delivering remarkable performances after making bold statements, did not live up to his own words this time. He had his least impressive offensive game of the season, only scoring 13 points, which is his season-low, and shooting a dismal 20 percent from the field (5-20).

During one sequence, he missed four close-range shots, including a layup in transition and three subsequent putbacks. Despite his poor shooting, he managed to make a positive impact on the game by contributing nine rebounds and eight assists. Nonetheless, it was an unexpected display from him following his confident declaration.

The Lakers of previous seasons have been top-heavy and depended on James and Davis to have outstanding performances every game. This season, the team has more depth, versatility, and firepower, making them better equipped to withstand poor performances from their stars. Russell, Beasley, Jarred Vanderbilt, Rui Hachimura, and Mo Bamba are recent additions to the team.
