The latest smartphone feature called ‘Message Guard’ can protect against “zero-click” viruses and other attacks into consumers’ phones, says Image Matrix Tech Editor Djuro Sen.
“So, this is different to the normal thing we always talk about where you click on something and then it downloads to your phone,” Mr Sen told Sky News Australia.
“This is all about getting onto your phone without you doing anything.
“So you could be asleep and overnight you get a message. The virus essentially gets downloaded, it’s through an image that’s attached to a text message, something like that.
“And then it’s able to sort of spill over into the operating system of the phone and take control of the phone and then it can start sharing your photos, your messages, emails, and listen to your microphone – all sorts of stuff.”
