A long-standing tradition between Heritage Community and the Park Rapids community is the Dove Project. It provides a special touch to Christmas for all of our residents.
Each year, paper doves are cut out and gift ideas are put on them, corresponding to what each resident would like. The doves are hung on trees in the lobbies of Citizens National Bank, Northview Bank and TruStar Federal Credit Union.
Community members take as many doves as they wish, purchase a gift or two off the list, wrap it up and return it to the bank or drop off at Heritage Living Center by Dec.15. Please include a gift receipt, if clothing is bought, in case it needs to be exchanged.
On Dec. 21, residents will receive presents from Santa Claus, along with some Christmas cheer. To see the smiles on their faces is priceless! We post pictures on our Facebook page (Heritage Park Rapids), so check it out..
Through the Dove Project, our residents have enjoyed the generosity from friends and supporters of our facility.
