A MAJOR power outage has wreaked havoc at a popular theme park loved by Brits – as most rides shut down.
Fuming visitors were turned away from their favourite attractions today at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Florida.
Excited families lining up for iconic experiences such as The Simpsons Ride, Hollywood’s Rip Ride Rocket and Jaws, were devastated to learn their fun was over.
Meanwhile over on Island’s of Adventure, tourists exploring Jurassic Park and The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man ride, have also been turned away.
It comes after a mysterious power outage has ground most rides to a devastating halt, as reported by Inside The Magic.
Orlando Amusement posted an announcement on X/Twitter which read: “BREAKING: A likely power failure has occurred at Universal Orlando, shuttering almost all attractions inside of Studios and delaying several inside of Islands of Adventure, and causing some to use virtual queue.
“Stay clear of the parks the next few hours everyone!”
The Universal Parks update page confirmed there are only three attractions in the whole park that are operating.
They were listed as Escape from Gringotts, The Mummy and the iconic Men In Black.
Disappointed fans have urged others to avoid the parks.
“If you’re heading to Universal Studios Florida, just know the park is experiencing a “multi-ride” delay right now,” one penned.
“Through in-park announcements, team members are recommending that visitors with multi-park tickets go to Islands of Adventure. Hopefully issue will be resolved soon.”
No official reason for the outage has been provided by Universal as of yet.
Park gates are still open, and it is understood ticket holders are still allowed to explore the legendary attraction.
However, it is advisable to regularly check updates on the status of rides if you are planning to visit tomorrow or this weekend.
