Marvin Clair Long, 86, Park Rapids, MN passed away at his home Friday, October 13, 2023.
Marvin was born October 26, 1936 in Arago, MN to Clair and Agnes (Bruenig) Long. He graduated from high school. On December 9, 1961 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Knudsen. They made their home in Coon Rapids where they raised their children, Ricky and Sheri. Marvin worked as a heavy equipment machinist and later owned and operated a Dairy Queen and rock shop.
Marvin and Dorothy retired to Park Rapids. Marvin enjoyed wine making, lapidary, and jewelry making. He liked tractors, farming, gardening, building tools and building houses. He enjoyed volleyball. He enjoyed square dancing with Dorothy. He was an active member of Trinity Church in Park Rapids until it recently closed.
Marvin is survived by his children, Ricky Long and Sheri Long; grandsons, Justin Long and Casey Long.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clair and Agnes Long; his wife, Dorothy Long; brothers, Duane Long, Vern Long; and sister, Ida Long.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by the Cease Family Funeral Home of Park Rapids.
