Meredith Marks is grateful to be alive after a terrifying car accident on Thursday.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star was in the back seat of an SUV driving through thick snow in Park City when her car lost control and crashed into a snowbank.
Moments before the accident, Marks and her friend, Kathy Prounis, were posing for a selfie in the back seat before they skidded off the road.
The Chicago native shared the image to her Instagram account along with a short video of the car stuck in the snow with the caption, ‘This photo was taken moments before our driver, Brent, was fortunately able to maneuver the car into the snowbank, as we were headed to crash off of a cliff in Utah.
‘This is a reminder to always be grateful and count your blessings. My dear friend and I were in a car accident that could have been far more horrible.’
She continued her lengthy caption, ‘Kathy, Brent, and I are all okay and safe. Please be careful on the roads, especially during this season with the most snow in Park City that we have seen in decades.
‘Many times in life we dwell on things of little importance rather than being grateful for the positive things that we have. I am beyond happy to be alive and well,’ wrote Marks.
The mother-of-three’s son Brooks, 23, commented on the post, ‘Love you so much.’
Another comment came from Real Housewives of Miami star Guerdy Abraira, who wrote, ‘OMGGGGG (praying hands).’
Marks commented on how her personal life was affected while on the Bravo series when she spoke to Page Six in April of 2022.
She explained how she got her mental health back on track after a ‘trying’ year.
With the combined stress of her father’s death, drama between close friends, and a close family member’s battle with addiction, Meredith felt like she had hit a breaking point with her mental health last year.
She said, ‘It was a trying year; there were some pretty dark times.
‘As you know, I like to disengage. So at the end of last winter, I left Utah. I didn’t come back for about five or six months.’
The beauty explained that she ‘needed time and space’ to process everything going on with her family and friends.
She spent time away in Provence, France, where she ‘found [her] zen.’
She added, ‘It was a very spiritual journey for me. I left. I just needed time to decompress and heal myself.’
She acknowledged, ‘And, of course, therapy never hurts. I just really needed to go and take a lot of time for myself.’
