Gary Neville, Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher all argued it was “soft”, but Dean felt there was no doubt of a penalty being given. He said: “I have had two looks at it on my screen and as he’s gone to get the ball, Hojlund clearly has a hand around his stomach – he’s definitely stopped the player getting to the ball.
“I think even from both angles we can see that there is a clear hold and he’s stopping Rodri from getting to the ball.” He added: “It’s the correct decision in my opinion, 100 per cent.”
