Adaptive suspension and an electronic limited slip differential still feature as standard. However, Auto Express was told earlier this year that the EV6 GT will not get the Ioniq 5 N’s uprated, stiffer suspension competents, so it’s likely to remain the slightly softer choice of the two.
The EV6 GT has received a new 84kWh battery, which should provide a boost to the outgoing model’s 263-mile range, although Kia hasn’t shared new WLTP range figures for the car yet. Rapid charging speeds have also been improved, allowing for a 10 to 80 per cent top-up in less than 18 minutes from the right charging point.
Styling and interior changes mirror those that the regular EV6 received earlier this year, including the new ‘Star Map’ daytime running light design inspired by the flagship Kia EV9, revised front and rear bumpers, plus new alloy wheels.
The cabin now has a new three-spoke steering wheel, and the brand’s latest infotainment software, which incorporates wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Eight-way adjustable heated and ventilated suede bucket seats also feature, while walk-away locking, augmented reality navigation and built-in dash cams have been added.
Despite the numerous upgrades, the price for the new Kia EV6 GT hasn’t changed in Korea. Whether its UK price tag of £62,675 will increase hasn’t been confirmed yet, with the model likely to go on sale in early 2025.
