Oct 19 (Reuters) – New York Attorney General Letitia James on Thursday sued cryptocurrency firms Gemini, Genesis Global and Digital Currency Group for allegedly “defrauding” investors of more than $1 billion.

An investigation by the Office of the Attorney General had found Gemini “lied” about an investment program it ran with Genesis, James alleged.

The companies did not immediately respond to Reuters’ requests for comment.
